Background
My Journey
I landed in Canada in August of 2007.
Being an immigrant hasn’t always been easy. I came to Canada with two suitcases, limited knowledge of English and no knowledge of French whatsoever. Like many immigrants, I left my family, traditions and friends behind.
I also brought the determination to give myself a better life. A new beginning without the constant fear of crime, violence and insecurity.
The multiple language and cultural barriers can make even the most determined immigrant give up. This, however, has not stopped me from achieving my North American dream.
I have successfully obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Sciences from Concordia University, Common Law and Civil Law degrees from McGill University and a Masters of Laws degree from University of Toronto. I have practiced corporate and commercial law in a well-established international law firm in Montreal. I have also worked at top tier international law firms in Hong Kong and Brazil. I am a licensed lawyer in three different jurisdictions: Quebec, Ontario and New York.
